In just the past two weeks I, Marion, have helped people suffering from a number of problems and conditions using EFT.

Now you may be thinking what is all this tapping? “Is this a new percussion technique for musicians?”. But what it actually is, is a technique that helps you to quickly become calm, centred and more resourceful when something emotional comes up or when you get stressed.
What can EFT help with?
Well, let me start with what EFT can do for you and how it has helped me, Cheryl and our clients. As well as relieving physical symptoms and negative emotions, EFT can help you to easily reduce stress, overcome barriers, achieve success, accelerate personal development, and create calm and relaxation.

What is EFT?
EFT is a form of Psychological Acupressure or Energy Psychology, that helps to reduce stress and rebalance the body and the mind. This technique is rapidly catching the attention of therapists, health professionals (including doctors & nurses), counsellors, coaches, healers, scientists and everyone in between.
EFT is a relatively new way to combine and apply some ancient wisdom and modern science.
You can do it by using the same ancient meridian system that acupuncture uses, to locate and then tap on very specific points while at the same time using modern psychological tools to focus on what you want to change.
An EFT treatment involves the use of fingertips to gently tap on the end points of energy meridians throughout the body as you focus your attention on the problem, the emotion or the symptom you want to work with.
The meridians are situated just beneath the surface of the skin. The treatment is so easy and non-invasive, even though it works on the same meridians as acupuncture – there are NO needles!
EFT aims to reduce stress, optimise your health, awareness and trust in the natural healing abilities of your mind and body, providing groundbreaking opportunities to achieving physical and emotional well-being.
And now the science
In the 1920’s, Albert Einstein said that “everything is energy”, this includes our bodies. EFT is based on the understanding that when there are imbalances, leaks or blockages in the body’s energy system (the meridians) this is very stressful. This energy being out of balance has a profound effect on your personal well-being as well as your psychology and can be the source of great discomfort.
To understand a little more about an energy block, leak or imbalance – think of the plumbing system in a house. There is a main supply of water, there is a storage tank, there are pipes, appliances, taps, showers, drains, toilets and many other crucial elements. This can be loosely compared to and used as a way of considering how the meridian system works. It’s like clearing a blockage or fixing a burst pipe or a dripping tap. When the system is operating correctly, all the flow and pressure is balanced, you can not only use the water resourcefully, whenever you need it you will always have access to exactly the right amount of clean fresh water and of course when needed the drains work.
In this example, the energy (called Xi – pronounced chee) is like the water, and the meridians are like the pipes and other elements, providing the channels through which the water can flow freely, efficiently and effectively creating health & harmony.

We use this frequently on ourselves, with our clients and on retreats to help to calm stress and give access to a more resourceful state of mind when something emotional and stressful comes up.
We love it and would recommend it to anyone, because it’s true, isn’t it, we all experience stress and energy imbalances – they are a part of life – however they can be emotionally challenging and if left unresolved can result in deep rooted limiting beliefs and behaviours that can prevent you from living a happy life with optimum health and well-being.
The resulting symptoms can be not only emotional but also psychological or physical, and very likely will be all three! Today, it is well documented that emotional disharmony increases stress which is the key factor in causing physical and mental disease.
Because the techniques are so simple, they can be used effectively as a self-help tool, which empowers you to actively contribute to your own healing, flourishing and development process. Facilitating a much faster relief process, these techniques are increasingly used by a whole host of medical and psychotherapeutic professionals to compliment the great work they do and EFT serves to contribute to a holistic healing process.
